Privacy Policy

Short version: there's no account, your lists stay in your browser, and the few things that do reach a server are listed below.

CutDone is run by Tim Jia, who is responsible for (the "controller" of) the personal data described here. Contact: levantuann002@gmail.com.

What stays in your browser

Every goal, title, and checklist item you type into the Builder, the Designer, Designer Pro, or the To-Do converter is saved in your browser's localStorage so a refresh doesn't lose your work. That text is not sent to CutDone, to analytics, or to anyone else. Printing, PNG and PDF exports happen inside your own browser. The one exception is the AI Goal Breakdown, and only when you ask it for a plan (see below).

What reaches a server

  • Goal Wall posts (only if you post). The 2027 Goal Wall is public. A goal you post there, the category, and the optional name you sign it with are stored on CutDone's server (a Cloudflare D1 database) and shown to everyone. A random ID generated by your browser is stored with it to enforce posting limits, record likes and reports, and let you delete your own post.
  • Reminder emails (only if you sign up). The optional December reminder on the 2027 pages stores your email address, the page you signed up from, the signup date, and a random unsubscribe token in the same database. It's used for that reminder only and never sold or shared.
  • CutDone Pro purchases. Payment happens on PayPal. CutDone receives the PayPal transaction ID, amount and status to confirm the purchase, then stores an unlock cookie in your browser. It also reads the email address on your PayPal account once, to create your license key and to email you a receipt with that key (sent through Resend); the address is not stored or logged afterwards. If a purchase is refunded, CutDone stores that PayPal transaction ID and license key in its database so they no longer unlock Pro. CutDone doesn't keep a purchase database; PayPal keeps its own transaction records (including the name and email on your PayPal account) and shares them with me as the seller, as it does for any PayPal payment.
  • AI Goal Breakdown (only when you click "Break Down My Goal"). The goal you type, the optional deadline and your settings (number of steps, pace, format) are sent through CutDone's server to DeepSeek, the AI provider that writes the draft plan, and the plan comes back to your browser. CutDone doesn't store or log that text and never sends it to analytics. DeepSeek processes it under its own terms and privacy policy, which may include servers outside your country, so please don't type personal details into the goal. To enforce the daily limits, CutDone's database stores only counters: a scrambled code made from your IP address and the date (it changes every day and can't be turned back into your IP address), or for Pro a scrambled code made from your purchase, plus how many breakdowns were used that day. Counters are deleted after about a week. The plan you edit is saved in your browser's localStorage.
  • Usage analytics. See the next two sections.

Cookies and similar storage

When you first visit, CutDone asks which cookie categories you allow: strictly necessary (always on), statistics and marketing. Statistics and marketing are off until you turn them on, for every visitor, wherever you are. Until you accept statistics, the Google Analytics script is not loaded at all. CutDone's own event counter (below) uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so it runs from the start; if you reject statistics, it switches off too.

  • cc_cookie (strictly necessary) — remembers your cookie choice for 6 months, so you aren't asked on every page.
  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*, statistics) — set only after you accept statistics. Google Analytics 4 uses them to count visits and see which pages are used. If you later turn statistics off, CutDone deletes them. Advertising features are switched off.
  • Marketing — CutDone uses no marketing or advertising cookies today. If that changes, they stay off unless you turn this category on.
  • cutdone_ai_free (strictly necessary) — set after your free AI goal breakdown, so the free allowance is one per browser. It only says "used" and contains nothing about you or your goal.
  • cutdone_pro — set only after you buy or restore CutDone Pro. It's a signed code that tells the site this browser has unlocked Pro. It contains your PayPal transaction ID (or, if you restored with a license key, a code derived from that key) and nothing else.
  • localStorage and sessionStorage — your saved drafts, your Goal Wall browser ID, and short-lived values that tell the Designer which page you came from.

Analytics

Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC), only after you accept statistics, receives page views and a few product events (for example "print clicked" or "PDF downloaded"), along with the approximate location and device information Google collects for any website. It never receives the text of your goals.

CutDone's own event counter is a small service I run on Cloudflare (opc-event-center.love0972.workers.dev). Some pages send it product events: the event name, the page path, a random ID that exists only while that page is open (it isn't saved anywhere, so separate visits can't be linked), and small numbers such as how many tasks a list has. It never receives the text you type, your name or your email, and it sets no cookies. It runs without asking first because it can't identify or follow you; if you reject the statistics category in the cookie dialog, it stops.

Third-party services

  • Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the site. Every request, including your IP address, passes through Cloudflare's network. Goal Wall posts, reminder emails and the event counter are stored on Cloudflare.
  • Google LLC — Google Analytics, as described above. See Google's privacy policy.
  • Resend — delivers the one receipt email with your license key after a CutDone Pro purchase. Resend keeps its own delivery log of that email for a limited time. See Resend's privacy policy.
  • DeepSeek — the AI provider behind the optional AI Goal Breakdown; it receives the goal text you submit there, as described above. See DeepSeek's privacy policy on deepseek.com.
  • PayPal — processes CutDone Pro payments. See PayPal's privacy statement.

No advertising trackers, no retargeting pixels, no ad networks. Nothing is sold. Fonts are served from cutdone.com itself, never from Google Fonts, so loading a page doesn't send your IP address to Google.

These providers are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there. Transfers rely on the safeguards each provider offers for this, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Why your data is used (legal bases)

  • Your consent: Google Analytics (the statistics cookie category) and the optional reminder email. You can withdraw consent at any time; it doesn't affect anything done before.
  • Providing what you asked for (a contract): processing a CutDone Pro purchase, creating your license key, sending your receipt, showing a Goal Wall post you chose to publish, and writing an AI goal breakdown you asked for.
  • Legitimate interests: keeping the site secure and running (Cloudflare's handling of requests), preventing spam and abuse on the Goal Wall (posting limits, reports), and CutDone's cookieless event counter, which you can switch off by rejecting statistics.
  • Legal obligations: keeping payment records where tax law requires it (these are held by PayPal).

How long things are kept

  • Reminder emails: until you unsubscribe (the address is deleted immediately), and no later than 31 January 2028, when the whole list is deleted after the December 2027 reminder.
  • Goal Wall posts: until you delete them yourself or ask me to remove them. The 2027 wall may stay online as a read-only archive during 2028; every 2027 post is deleted by 31 December 2028. Reports and likes are deleted with the post.
  • Refunded purchases: the transaction ID and license key are kept for as long as CutDone runs, so a refunded key can't be used again.
  • Pro unlock cookie: in your browser until you clear it. It is renewed when you visit, so it doesn't expire while you use the site.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics keeps user-level data for the retention period set in the Google Analytics property (2 months by default, never more than 14 months).

Your rights and deleting your data

Delete a Goal Wall post from the browser you posted it from, or email me and I'll remove it. Every reminder email has a one-click unsubscribe link, or you can email me. Clearing your browser's site data removes everything stored in your browser.

If you're in the EU, the UK or another place with similar laws, you can ask to see the personal data CutDone holds about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or receive a copy of it. Email levantuann002@gmail.com; I'll answer within one month. You can withdraw cookie consent any time with the "Change my cookie choice" button above. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date below will update.
